  • I wholeheartedly agree with this. As a 'worship leader' in my church, that title has bugged me for years, as it implies that worship = music, and that good musicians are the only ones who can bring us into a place of worshipping God. And it's reflected in what people say - 'The worship was good today / or not so good'. How do we measure how 'good' worship is?! Who is the actual object of our worship anyway?!

    This is a subject really close to my heart, and I find that Isaiah 58 captures the essence of worship for me. Just a few weeks ago, I put together a video of a song about this, with a chorus line, 'Am I worshipping God for only me?'
